Kolkata, Oct. 30 The profit after tax of EIH Ltd, a member of the Oberoi Group, for the quarter ended September 30, 2007 has recorded a growth of over 150 per cent at Rs 42.75 crore against Rs 15.91 crore achieved during the corresponding quarter of 2006-07.

Net sales for the period under review is placed at Rs 215.86 crore (Rs 188.47 crore). Operating profit before interest and depreciation is placed at Rs 77.18 crore (Rs 57.9 crore).

EPS for the first half is Rs 2.02 against Rs 0.92 in the corresponding half of 2006-07.

According to a statement issued by the company, though the first half of the financial year was not the best period for the hospitality sector in India, owing to the seasonal nature, EIH’s operating profit before interest and depreciation has increased by 26 per cent from Rs 126.35 crore to Rs 158.92 crore.
