Pantaloon Retail net rises 87%

Mumbai, Oct. 30

Pantaloon Retail (India) Ltd has posted an increase of 87 per cent in net profit at Rs 29.67 crore for the quarter ended September 30. According to the company, in the corresponding quarter last year, there was an extraordinary income of Rs 33.80 crore through profit on sale of investments. On deducting the after tax amount of the profit from sale of investment, the net profit has increased by 87 per cent over corresponding period last year. The gross turnover at Rs 1,176. 27 crore for the quarter increased by 78.5 per cent while net sales/income from operations at Rs 1,087.17 crore increased by 79.6 per cent.
