Spot rubber prices decline

Kottayam, Oct. 31 The rubber prices moved down anticipating better arrivals in the days ahead as rains subsided giving way to bright sunny days since the last two days. RSS 4 declined to Rs 97.50 from Rs 98 and Rs 98.50 a kg respectively at Kottayam and Kochi. Marginal selling pressure was felt in the main marketing centres and most of the grades fell with an improvement in volumes.

The rubber futures continued to remain weak quoting the November contract at Rs 98 (99.68) a kg on MCX. Spot prices were (Rs/kg): RSS-4: 97.50 (98); RSS-5: 95 (95.50); ungraded: 92.75 (93.50); ISNR 20: 93.50 (94.50) and latex 60 per cent: 63.50 (63.50).
