Real Estate & Construction Madhucon Q2 net up at Rs 13.5 cr Hyderabad, Nov 1 Madhucon Projects Ltd’s net profit increased 19.8 per cent to Rs 13.5 crore in the second quarter ended September 30, 2007 as against Rs 11.26 crore in the corresponding quarter of previous fiscal. The turnover grew by 70 per cent to Rs 158.6 crore (Rs 93.3 crore). During the quarter higher provision of depreciation was provided at Rs 9.7 crore (Rs 3.3 crore) in view of purchase of sophisticated capital equipment. The gross block of fixed assets stood at Rs 329 crore consisting of new generation crushers, hot mix plants, pavers and batching plants. The Hyderabad-based firm currently has an order book of Rs 4,050 crore. The special purpose vehicle floated by the company for 540 MW (in two phases) thermal power plants in Andhra Pradesh had fully tied up term loan from financial institutions and banks. The construction of the plant would commence in December 2007 and the commercial operations would start by March 2010, according to a release. – Our Bureau More Stories on : Real Estate & Construction
