Usha Martin net sales up at Rs 577 cr

Speciality steel and wire rope manufacturer Usha Martin Ltd has posted consolidated sales - net of excise duty and inter-unit sales - of Rs 577.30 crore during the period July-September 2007, compared with Rs 520.66 crore recorded during the corresponding period of last year. According to a press release issued by the company, the profit before tax during the second quarter of the current fiscal stood at Rs 62.28 crore, against Rs 41.47 crore during July-September 2006. The profit after tax in July-September 2007 has been pegged at Rs 45.95 crore compared with Rs 30.89 crore recorded in the second quarter of last fiscal. - Our Bureau
