Channels and Franchises Agri-Biz & Commodities - Coir States - Kerala Coir Board signs pact with IOC Our Bureau Kochi, Nov. 1 Coir Board has signed an agreement with Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) here to sell coir products through IOC’s retail outlets. Coir Board and IOC will jointly identify retail outlets in the territories where sale of coir products are viable and feasible, the Board Chairman, Mr A.C. Jose, said while launching the scheme at Kochi. Selected retail dealers of the IOC would be appointed as franchisees of the Board, he said. The scheme, initially launched in Kerala, would be extended to other States in a phased manner. Domestic promotionThe Chairman pointed out that domestic market promotion is one of the major plan programmes of the Board and it had already set up 30 showrooms all over the country with an objective to provide a strong and stable marketing network for coir products manufactured by various small scale producers and cooperative societies. Presiding over the function, the IOC Kerala Head, Mr B. Ashok, said the Corporation has over 16,000 outlets and 31,000 sales points in Kerala. Even if 5 to 10 per cent outlets are utilised for selling coir products, it would go a long way in promoting coir products. The products would be displayed in IOC outlets in an attractive packing. The customers can purchase coir mats and other products, and place orders with IOC outlets. More Stories on : Channels and Franchises | Coir | Kerala
