Deccan Aviation net loss widens

Bangalore, Nov 2 Deccan Aviation has posted a 490 per cent increase in net loss to Rs 253.18 crore while its net sales increased 24 per cent to Rs 445.21 crore between July and September.

The airline company has also informed the Bombay Stock Exchange that it has inducted the UB Group Chairman, Mr Vijay Mallya, as the Vice-Chairman of its board. Other UB Group executives, Mr A.K. Ravi Nedungadi and Mr Hitesh Harshad Patel have also been inducted into the board.

Mr G.R. Gopinath will be the Executive Chairman of the Deccan Aviation board. The new appointments to the board follow the UB Group’s acquisition of 46 per cent stake in the airline.
