Meet on ready-to-eat foods to discuss trends

Our Bureau

Mumbai, Nov. 3 A national seminar on ‘Ready-to-Eat Foods’ is scheduled to be held during November 15-16 in New Delhi’s Pragati Maidan.

The seminar will bring together experts to discuss emerging trends including food safety and hygiene, new product development, quality control systems as also packaging.

With rapid economic growth lifestyles are changing.

Urbanisation and nuclear families influence eating habits. Demand for ready-to-eat foods is soaring within the country; and importantly, export markets for traditional foods are developing.

The retail revolution has begun to augment the prospects for convenience foods. New products are being launched and established products revamped.

Organised by All India Food Processors Association in conjunction with Assochom India and supported by Union Ministry of Food Processing Industries and India Trade Promotion Organisation, the seminar is expected to provide an opportunity for entrepreneurs, food technologists, export houses, marketing experts and logistics service providers to discuss food industry issues holistically and chart a roadmap for the future.
