KPR Mill net profit, sales rise on strong demand

Our Bureau

Coimbatore, Nov. 3

Coimbatore-based KPR Mill Ltd has posted net sales of Rs 139.19 crore in the quarter ended September 30, 2007, up by 12.7 per cent, compared with Rs 123.49 crore in the same quarter of last year.

The company attributed this improvement to the strong domestic demand for yarn and fabric and the rising share of the apparel sales. As a major portion of the exports was destined for Europe, the company could remain insulated from the appreciation of the rupee.

The profit before tax was higher at Rs 26.74 crore (Rs 21.14 crore) and the net profit rose 33.6 per cent to Rs 20.62 crore (Rs 15.43 crore). The EPS for the quarter was Rs 5.98 (Rs 4.86).

The board of directors approved an interim dividend of 20 per cent for the current financial year.

The EBIDTA rose 22.1 per cent to Rs 44.3 crore (Rs 36.31 crore) and the margin was at a healthy 31.9 per cent.
