New Delhi, Nov. 3

The World Bank President, Mr Robert B. Zoellick and the Prime Minister, Dr Manmohan Singh, have expressed concern over the continuing rise in global oil and food prices.

“Both the Prime Minister and I independently expressed concern about some of the effects of continuing high oil prices and high food prices,” Mr Zoellick told reporters here on Saturday.

Mr Zoellick, who met Dr Singh here on Friday, said that one way to deal with the problem was to improve energy efficiency, which would also help tackle the issues concerning global climate change.
