Our Bureau

Chennai, Nov. 3 The All India Federation of Master Printers has announced the start of the selection process for the fourth national awards for excellence in printing (NAEP 2008). The last date for printers to submit their entries is December 20.

The awards function will be held in Kolkata on February 22, 2008. Addressing a road show here today, the NAEP 2008 Chairman, Mr Bikash Sarker, said that the awards are aimed at improving the general level of quality of output among the printers.

The awards are in various categories ranging from small presses to medium and large units. The latest edition of awards also has two new categories – single-colour offset and metal printing. More awards have also been included in digital printing.

During the last awards in Mumbai in 2005, over 1,860 entries were submitted. For the current year the organisers expect more than 2,000 submissions, he said.
