TN gets new Industries Secretary

Chennai, Nov. 3

The Tamil Nadu Government has appointed Mr M.F. Farooqui, Development Commissioner and Commissioner of Revenue Administration, as the Industries Secretary, according to an official press release. Mr Farooqui takes over from Mr Shakthikanta Das, who has been appointed the Special Commissioner and Commissioner of Revenue Administration in Mr Farooqui’s place. The move comes just two days ahead of the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister, Mr M. Karunanidhi’s plans to announc e the new industrial policy on Monday. The Government has also transferred Mr Hans Raj Verma, Chairman, Tamil Nadu Electricity Board, and posted him as Special Secretary to Government, Planning and Development Department. Mr S. Machendranathan, Secretary to Government, Cooperation, Food and Consumer Protection, has been posted Chairman, Tamil Nadu Electricity Board. —
