Our Bureau

Kochi Nov. 5 The Spencer’s chain of retail supermarket is introducing possibly the first ’Live Fish’ counter in Kerala at the Daily store at Veekshanam, Kochi.

The move is expected to satiate the avid sea-food lovers of Kerala and enhance the rich culinary tradition of the state, chiefly of fresh sea-food. And several of the live seafood will now be available at your `friendly neighbourhood’ store, a press release from the company said.

At the Spencer’s ‘Live Fish’ counter in Veekshanam, customers can choose their pick from a freshwater tank and two marine tanks, which display all the live varieties of fishes that the store has on offer.

These tanks are fitted with bio-filter system, real rocks and speciality lightings to control and maintain the quality of water and thereby providing the best living condition for the fishes.

Mr Samar Singh Sheikhawat, Vice-President-Marketing, Spencer’s Retail Ltd, announced the launch.
