Gateway District Park to manage Pace CFS at Aroor

Our Bureau

Kochi, Nov. 5 Gateway District Parks (Kerala) Ltd, a joint venture company between Gateway District Parks Ltd and Chakiat Agencies, have announced the commencement of an Operation and Management – JV Agreement with Pace CFS Pvt Ltd with effect from November 1.

Pace CFS has been in operation for almost a decade and in order to facilitate the trade and exim cargo movement through Kochi, an O&M Agreement has been signed, a press release issued here said.

Gateway District Parks (Kerala) Ltd brings to the trade vast experience in the CFS and Logistics Business, adequately supported by a strong operations, sales and management team. The Pace CFS facility will provide a bouquet of services to handle both import and export cargo.

Officials in the DP World Kochi said that shipping lines will now have the option to shift their import containers to the CFS facility at Aroor thereby decongesting the terminal, which would result in increased productivity and also providing the terminal with the yard space to handle the surging container traffic at Kochi.

Exporters today have very few options of consolidating their goods in Kochi due to the lack of proper CFS facility. With the setting up of Pace CFS, exporters from Kerala and especially those from Tirupur, Karur, Coimbatore and Bangalore will now be in a position to consolidate their goods at CFS.

Mr Elvis D’Cruz, Commercial Manager, DP World said that the setting up of the CFS will definitely promote sea-air shipments of garments and other consolidation business to the Middle East and the Far East.
