IBM research lab to work on services innovation

Our Bureau

Bangalore, Nov. 6 IBM India Research Laboratory has expanded its Bangalore campus to research on “service innovation”.

The new facility will be open to clients, connecting its researchers with difficult, real-world problems facing the services industry – in the areas of business intelligence, systems management and optimisation.

The laboratory will drive more services innovation by leveraging the research team’s co-location with other IBM divisions to identify opportunities, validate their ideas or prototypes, and bring a wide array of innovations, tools, and expertise directly to customers.

“We work collaboratively with clients on real-world business challenges and opportunities,” said Dr Guruduth Banavar, Associate Director, IBM India Research Laboratory, Bangalore.

While clients benefit from working directly with IBM’s technical experts and resources, gaining innovations that are more targeted to their specific needs – the researchers benefit by acquiring first-hand knowledge of client technology, business processes and challenges to spur further innovations.
