Nandigram in distress

A. Roy Chowdhury

Turmoil township: Residents leaving Nandigram in West Bengal to move to safer places on Wednesday. Violence broke out again in the area as rival groups traded gunfire and hurled bombs in which two persons were injured, the police said. Nandigram continued to witness trouble though the State Government had announced some time ago that there would be no land acquisition for a chemical hub in the area.
