Robusta coffee Fine Cup award

Kochi, Nov. 9

The POABS Organic Plantation at Nelliampathy in Palakkad district has won the Flavour of India-Fine Cup award for the best and second best organic Robusta coffee for the year 2007. While the coffee produced at its Thuthampara estate won the Board’s Fine Cup Award (Robusta)-2007, the same produce from its Seethargundu Estate, also at Nelliampathy, won the Second Best Award in the same category. The POABS Director, Mr Thomas Jacob, said in a release that coffee harvested during the 2006-07 crop season had been considered by the Board for participation in the 2007 competition. – Our Bureau
