SpiceJet, first to receive B737-900 ER

New Delhi, Nov 9 The low-cost airline, SpiceJet, which took delivery of a Boeing 737-900 Extended Range aircraft in Seattle on Thursday, has become the first airline from India to receive this variety of aircraft.

The airline had announced its decision to purchase five Boeing 737-900 ER and five Boeing 737-800 aircraft at the Asian Aerospace show in Singapore in 2006. SpiceJet, currently, has a fleet of 15 Boeing aircraft, started operations in May 2005.
