BridgeOne brings in Aigo’s digital products


The company plans to operate in Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, New Delhi and targets gadgets at youth who love music on the go.

Hyderabad, Nov. 9 BridgeOne Technologies is investing $15-20 million by December 2008 to roll out a whole range of digital, utilitarian and entertainments gadgets manufactured by Chinese firm Aigo, and marketed under the Aigo brand name.

Based out of Singapore, BridgeOne has signed up with Future Group’s Central to host their products and is in parleys with some of the retail chains including Digital Shoppy, Planet M, Music World, LifeStyle and eZone, which it expects to sign up by December 2008.

The Head of Corporate Sales and Marketing, BridgeOne, Mr Murali Bharthwaj, said Aigo is the official sponsor for the Beijing Olympics and for Mclaren along with the likes of Vodafone, and sees its products reaching out to the young generation with their versatility and utilitarian nature.

Product line

Aigo products include MP3, M4 players, digital photo frames, pen drives, MP3 glasses and watches and storage devices. The initial roll-out will cover about 6 of Aigo’s products and gradually, all its products would be on the stands.

Speaking to Business Line, Mr Murali said that the company plans to operate in Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, New Delhi and cover about 20 major cities in a phased manner. As a part of the efforts to market these products, BridgeOne is also sponsoring some events in India, including Go Karting.

Referring to Aigo products, Mr Murali said most of the company products manufactured in Beijing are marketed in Europe and South East Asia and the entry into India would open up a big market with an attractively priced innovative range.

“These gadgets are targeted at youth who love music on the go. With changing lifestyles and spending patterns, these gadgets have received good response when we test marketed them in Delhi recently,” he said.
