Retailing Variety - Interiors & Homes @home plans expansion Our Bureau Pune, Nov. 9 @home, the home solutions from Nilkamal Ltd, has opened its second store in Pune. With this, it has a presence in 10 cities across the country. Talking to presspersons, Mr Manish Parekh, Director, @home, said the company began its home furnishings foray in 2005 with the opening of its first store in Pune. “Now, it is planning to open up six more stores across the country, taking the total to 16 by the end of the current fiscal.” The new stores would be opened in Coimbatore, Surat, Thane, Faridabad, Ghaziabad and New Delhi. With the stores opening within the next four months, Mr Parekh said that it would be making its foray into the North. Currently, it has presence in the South and West of the country. He said the group has set aside Rs 75 crore for its expansion plans. The company has recorded a revenue of Rs 29 crore in its first year of operations and is looking at Rs 70 crore for the current fiscal. It was targetting Rs 600 crore turnover by 2010-11, he said. This Pune store showcases 20 living room styles, 18 bedroom styles and 20 dining room varieties and has home accessories and soft furnishings. All these products are currently being imported from locations such as Turkey, China, Indonesia, Malaysia and Thailand.
