Kochi, Nov. 9 The POABS group’s organic coffee plantation at Nelliampathy in Palakkad district has won the `Flavour of India – Fine Cup award’ for the best and second best organic robusta coffee for the year 2007. Quoting a Coffee Board statement , the POABS Director, Mr Thomas Jacob, said the coffee produced at its Thuthampara estate won the Board’s Fine Cup award (robusta) 2007 and the produce from the Seethargundu estate won the second best award in the same category.

The Coffee Board award selection was based on a four-level rigorous screening by expert cup tasters drawn from various countries. As a result, the quality coffee approved by the Coffee Board has been winning international competitions , Mr Jacob said.
