Cinema States - Kerala Animation movie in Malayalam Our Bureau Thiruvananthapuram, Nov. 11 Media and film production company Increation has announced it is making Manikantan, an animation feature film in Malayalam. According to Mr Nalin Singh, the film’s producer, it is the first full-length animation feature film to be produced in Malayalam. The film, which is based on the story of Lord Ayyappan, is targeted at children. The idea is to create a good Indian animation film that has global appeal, he explained. The film is also intended to teach children about Indian culture and values, he added. Multi-lingual ventureWhile the film will initially be made in Malayalam and Tamil, it will eventually be released in other Indian languages, including Hindi and Telugu, Mr Singh said. An English version of the film is also being considered, he added. The investment in the film will be “upwards of $1 million,” he said. The plan is to complete the film in one year and release it by the end of next year, he added. The film will feature the voices of some of South India’s leading film actors, said Mr Reji Syne, the film’s director. Several prominent actors from Kerala have agreed to dub for characters in the Malayalam version of the film, he added. More Stories on : Cinema | Kerala
