Financial Services Our Bureau Mumbai, Nov. 14 National Securities Depositories Ltd said it has reduced its settlement fee charged to depository participants by 16 per cent. The fee charged to DPs has reduced to Rs 5 per debit instruction from Rs 6 earlier, a statement said. NSDL had last reduced its fee in October 2005, decreasing it from Rs 8 to Rs 6 per debit instruction. It has been the policy of NSDL to reduce charges with the growth in volumes, and to share this benefit with users of the depository system, it said. During the last one year, 1.6 million new accounts have been opened with NSDL. The number of accounts has crossed 8 million. The total value of securities dematerialised with NSDL is over Rs 49 lakh crore, it said. More Stories on : Financial Services
