Computerised rly receipt system

The South Eastern Railway has commissioned a computerised railway receipt system at Joda East in the Chakradharpur division. Joda East is a freight siding and loads 2.5 to 3 rakes of iron ore per day, says a press release. Indian Railways has taken up a project for computerisation of the freight operation information system in its entire network. It is aimed at streamlining the information required in running freight trains and also at providing accurate information to fre ight customers, adds the release. —
