Security Malicious codes thru YouTube Coimbatore, Nov. 15 Rock Phish group, the largest phishing gang on the Internet is said to be using ‘YouTube’ to lure users into running a malicious code. Websense Security Labs, which has received reports of the malicious code, while cautioning users foresees disturbing signs especially because the site is found to have been hosted on a server that has hosted more than a hundred phishing sites over the last four months. This server incidentally is managed by the Rock Phish group. “Rock Phish’s potential for adding malicious code to its attack arsenal in conjunction with standard Web forms on bogus sites is an additional concern,” notes a release from Websense Security Labs. The attack is said to begin when an email user is invited to view a video from YouTube, and upon connecting to the site is redirected to a page, which resembles the real YouTube site, but reports inability to load the video and attempts to dupe users into downloading and installing a flash player. — Our Bureau More Stories on : Security | Internet
