Air Chief flies advanced light copter Dhruv

Bangalore, Nov. 15 The Chief of Air Staff, Air Chief Marshal F.H. Major, flew for 20 minutes in the advanced light helicopter Dhruv powered by the Shakthi engine here on Thursday, HAL said.

The HAL-made copter is equipped with sophisticated electronic digital control systems and other onboard equipment made for various missions.

The HAL Chairman, Mr Ashok K.Baweja, briefed Air Marshal Major on the ongoing weaponisation programme of the helicopter.

The Air Chief described the craft as an outstanding flying platform with multiple features.

He later visited various facilities in the Helicopter Division.
