Outlook Vestas RRB to increase focus on export markets Our Bureau Chennai, Nov. 16 Vestas RRB India Ltd, a manufacturer of wind energy generators, which has expanded its export market to North America, plans to increase focus on export markets. Addressing a press conference after formally handing over a wind turbine to a Canadian company, Free Breeze Energy Systems Ltd, here today, Vestas’ Deputy Managing Director, Mr Sarvesh Kumar, said that the company, which has a turnover of over Rs 1,000 crore would see at least 15 per cent of its business coming from exports from next year. Exports now constituted a small percentage now with exports to Sweden. Free Breeze is a developer of wind energy facilities, which sources, installs and services wind turbines for investors. The company’s President, Mr John Hogg, said that establishment of wind turbines is on the increase in Canada with its Government encouraging use of renewable sources of energy. Over 1,451 MW of wind turbines have been established and this is set to grow. Free Breeze’s has purchased two wind turbines of 600 KW each from Vestas, an order valued at $2 million (Rs 8 crore). According to a press release from Vestas, the company is in an advanced stage of commissioning a wind energy generator blade and controller facility at Poonamallee to the west of Chennai.
