Market research fair BrandScan begins today

Our Bureau

Mangalore, Nov. 16 The two-day annual market research fair of the Manipal-based T.A. Pai Management Institute (TAPMI) — BrandScan 2007 — will begin at Manipal on November 17.

The 15th edition of BrandScan will be inaugurated by Mr R.S. Sodhi, Chief General Manager of GCMMF (Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation) Ltd, Anand, at 2 p.m. on November 17.

BrandScan is a unique market research programme conducted by the students of TAPMI. In the 14 years of its existence, BrandScan has completed 143 projects for various clients, making it the largest market research fair by a B-school in India.

The unique demographic profile of Manipal and the use of projective techniques for data collection have been its strengths.

Customised events

BrandScan helps students learn and at the same time entertain the population of Manipal. The BrandScan team has chosen the format of a gala fair to attract the desired target segments by conducting customised events for the research.

The average footfall for this event is over 7,000. The fair attracts a diverse crowd, young and old, middle and upper-class households from Manipal, Udupi and adjoining areas.

A vital part of BrandScan is that it is an academic exercise at TAPMI. Two credits of the postgraduate programme-II (PGP-II) curriculum are specifically for the purpose of BrandScan.

Clients

A statement by BrandScan team here said that clients like Lotte, Lenovo, Perfetti, OnMobile, AMUL, JK Tyres, Titan Fastrack, IMS, Kidstuff Promos, BPCL, Café Coffee Day, Apple, Samsung and Amrutanjan have confirmed their participation in the event.

TNS India is the official research partner for BrandScan. TNS will provide expert guidance to the project leaders throughout the research process.

Business Line is the print media partner for BrandScan 2007. Radio Mirchi is the radio partner and Apple is the technology partner for the event.

Chevrolet, Tibre Clothing, and Vega Helmets are the other sponsors.
