Security ‘Tough time ahead for IT managers’ Preethi J. Bangalore, Nov. 16 Indian IT managers have a tough time ahead, according to Ernst and Young’s technology and security risk services leader for emerging markets, Mr Richard Brown, who is on a tour visiting multinationals in the country. “They will not be relaxing anytime soon, as they grapple with fast growth and stabilising their basic infrastructure, and they are focussed on getting their house in order,” he told Business Line on Friday. Issues, risksCIOs (Chief Information Officers) here are as aware of issues and IT risks as their global counterparts. Issues that plague CIOs everywhere are those related to standardisation, rationalisation (using the same instance of software across borders), business intelligence and data quality, compliance, maintaining data privacy and preventing leakage of critical information. “There have been enough public instances of data leakage and IT managers are right to be worried,” he said.
