Where is the road?

– N. Ramakrishnan

A bumpy drive: Tata Consultancy Services is scheduled to inaugurate the first building in the IT special economic zone it is setting up inside the Siruseri IT Park, near Chennai, soon. Many delegates, including the Uruguayan President, are slated to participate in the function. The building may be ready, but the road inside the IT Park hardly looks ready. It is a bumpy drive inside as only one half of the road is available for vehicles to use. As it is, over 2,000 employees are working in various IT companies inside the park, not to mention a few thousand workers engaged in construction activity. IT companies wonder when the State Industries Promotion Corporation of Tamil Nadu (SIPCOT), the State Government agency that has set up the park and is responsible for infrastructure, will lay the roads to make them motorable.
