Marck Biosciences enters AP

Ahmedabad, Nov. 19

Targeting to become the third largest parenteral manufacturer in the country, with a turnover of Rs 100 crore in 2007-08, the Ahmedabad-based Marck Biosciences Ltd on Monday rolled out a range of products in Hyderabad. Having a presence in North and Western India, the company recently entered Karnataka. “The launch in Andhra Pradesh is aimed at spearheading our plan to cross the target turnover of Rs 100 crore in 2007-08,” said Mr Bhavesh Patel, Managing Director, in a release here.

In Andhra Pradesh, it plans to gain a market share of 25 per cent. Marck is investing Rs 72 crore at its existing manufacturing facility in Kheda district of Gujarat to increase its production capacity to 230 million units of SVP (small volume parenterals) and 61 million units of LVP (large volume parenterals).With this, the total investment in the facility would exceed Rs 125 crore.
