Our Bureau

New Delhi, Nov 21 UTV Motion Pictures says it has already recovered its Rs 16-crore production cost for the upcoming movie ‘Goal’ even before theatrical release of the movie.

The John Abraham starrer’s satellite rights, music rights, in-film advertising, home video and territory have all been sold to ensure that the film is profitable irrespective of its fate at theatres. “Dhan dhana dhan Goal” was produced in association with Bindass, the company’s new youth business, and will be released on November 23.

It features along with Abraham, actors Arshad Warsi and Boman Irani. The movie based on a bunch of not so young guys’ football ambitions and has struck deals with Reebok, Western Union and Gillette. Reebok has sponsored the clothing line in the film and will sell the range at its outlets.

UTV has also licensed the gaming rights for the film to Indiagames, which has tied up with FIFA to launch the Goal-FIFA challenge on its platform.

The sports channel, ESPN Star Sports will integrate the catch-line of Goal - Duniya Goal Hai - to promote English premier league matches during November. Zee Sports is to organise the Goal bus tour in Delhi.
