People AMD chairman coming Our Bureau Bangalore, Nov. 21 Chipmaker Advanced Micro Devices’ Chairman and CEO, Dr. Hector de J. Ruiz, is visiting the country on a six-day trip. Dr Ruiz will meet key Government officials, business leaders, academicians, industry associations and policy makers during his trip between November 28 and December 3, the company said. This is Dr Ruiz’ second visit to India. He inked a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with SEMIndia for manufacturing, licensing and business development of AMD’s semiconductor technology in 2005. His public engagements include the World Economic Forum India summit at the Capital. Organised in partnership with the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), the India Economic Summit 2007 is set to convene under the theme India: Building Centres of Excellence.
