Hyderabad, Nov. 21 Nasdaq-listed data management solutions and clinical trials provider Phase Forward today announced the establishment of a wholly owned subsidiary here.

Continuing its association with Virtusa Corporation, Phase Forward will locate its Hyderabad centre and expand the nature and scope of its development work that would extend beyond product development and support to professional and engineering services.

The Senior Vice-President of Phase Forward, Mr Steve Powell, said apart from serving its large global clientele, this facility would also look at the rapidly growing Indian market and the large contingent of multinational corporations tapping into India as a hub.

Phase Forward will leverage its successful model of staffing global projects with in-country and external resources. This approach has supported Phase Forward’s growth in response to market demand, while enabling Phase Forward to manage resources cost-effectively. This approach is designed to offer customers flexibility and scalability.

Phase Forward plans to expand its development team in India and expects to host about 40 per cent of the total global development team in India. The company sees India as a high-growth area for the bio-pharma services industry.

The Head of Global Delivery Operations, Virtusa, Dr Santanu Paul, said: “This association will expand our association with Phase Forward, with whom we are already engaged in outsourced product development work.”

The addition of the India subsidiary marks an important extension of Phase Forward’s global presence, which, in addition to its US headquarters, includes operations in Europe, Japan and Australia.
