Airlines Web Extras - Promotions & Offers SriLankan offers 100 tickets for Rs 100 Our Bureau New Delhi, Nov. 22 To celebrate 100 flights a week to India, SriLankan Airlines is offering 100 seats between India and Sri Lanka at Rs 100. The promotion, which is on till December 2, is available for online bookings. While the Rs 100-fare includes the fuel surcharge, the passenger would have to bear the Government and airport charges which amount to Rs 1,500. The airline has been steadily increasing its flights to India since 2003, when India and Sri Lanka signed an open sky agreement that allowed airlines from Sri Lanka to operate a daily flight to the metro cities, apart from operating any number of flights to 18 tourist destinations.
Taking advantage of the opportunities provided by the open-sky offer, SriLankan Airlines has increased its operations from 45 flights a week to eight cities in October 2003, to 100 flights a week to 11 cities, including Chennai, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Trivandrum, Tiruchi, Kochi, Kozhikode and Coimbatore.
