User reviews by hotels boon to travellers
Our Bureau
Bangalore, Nov.22 Travellers can now make an informed choice in selecting the right hotel thanks to a well-developed community of hotel users posting their reviews from their own experiences.
A leading portal Travelguru has generated 6,000 user reviews of 2,000 hotels across the country.
“We have the maximum number of user reviews among all travel sites in the country.
As per industry sources, there are around 11,000 user reviews in the online travel space and we contribute more than 50 per cent to the user reviews available in India.
While going through the reviews the person can book the hotel of his or her choice right then and there, and this is makes it most appealing to the consumer,” said Mr Hari V. Krishnan, VP, Product and Marketing, Travelguru.
According to the CompUSA-iPerceptions study, 77 per cent of online shoppers globally use reviews and ratings when making a purchase. 86 per cent of respondents said they would trust a friend’s or user’s recommendation over a critic’s or expert’s view. Nearly 63 per cent of all word-of-mouth publicity is positive. Over 65 per cent of online users researching information gives more credibility to user reviews, even in India.
