Our Bureau

Kochi, Nov. 22 The Chief Minister, Mr V. S. Achuthanandan has inaugurated the UST Global Kochi Centre at Vismaya Building in Info Park here.

After the UST Global Thiruvananthapuram centre at Technopark, the Kochi facility is the second centre to come up in Kerala. The UST Global development centre features a total built up area of two hundred thousand square feet with eight floors, each comprising of 25,000 square feet.

Beginning with a 250-strong workforce, the centre will scale up to accommodate 2000 IT professionals within 2 years.

The Kochi Centre is a key pivot of the UST Global ‘hub and spoke’ expansion model, where offshore development centres are established in close proximity to untapped centres of IT potential. UST Global centres at Kochi and Thiruvananthapuram will leverage diverse skill sets available across the State, gaining UST Global the cost and competitive edge.

Acclaim

Recently UST Global was included by Gartner Inc in the coveted 2007 North America Offshore Applications Services Magic Quadrant report. Forrester Research recently showcased UST Global in its report on global IT services companies as a leading mid tier player.

Mr Alexander Varghese, Centre Head, Thiruvananthapuram, said that the operations at Kochi centre would leverage the aggressive growth and spate of positive developments that UST Global has experienced over 2007.

As a significant hub of Kerala’s largest IT services company, the Kochi centre will attract top end talent and domain expertise, adding a new impetus to the exciting IT renaissance phase that Kerala is now experiencing. Since its inception in 1999, UST Global has grown to become Kerala’s largest IT services company, he added.

UST Global is a leading provider of end-to-end IT services and BPO solutions for the Global 2000 market. It offers a "client-centric" global delivery model that combines local, senior, on-site resources with the cost, scale and quality advantages of offshore operations.
