‘Opportunities aplenty for entrepreneurs in financial services’

Mangalore, Nov. 22 A lot of opportunities are available for entrepreneurs in the areas of banking and other financial services sectors, according to Mr B.R. Bhat, General Manager of Corporation Bank.

Inaugurating the corporate office of the Mangalore-based ACE (Associated Communication and Entertainment) group of companies here, he said the globalisation has made people to look at other financial instruments such as mutual funds and insurance. Mutual fund sector, which did a business of Rs 1 lakh crore two years ago, achieved a business of Rs 6 lakh crore this year. Entrepreneurs should make use of the opportunities available in the financial services sector, he said.

At the same time, banking industry is also witnessing a good growth. This industry is growing farther than what it was growing in the last few years.

Mr K. Narasimha Prabhu, Chief Executive Officer of ACE group of companies, said that his companies provide investment and financial investment services to people and BPO services to banking institutions.

Mr M.M. Kudva, Deputy General Manager of Canara Bank, and Mr A.G. Pai, Chief Operating Officer of Mangalore SEZ Ltd, spoke on the occasion.
