Replenishing the soil

– K.K. Mustafah

A farm worker sprinkles fertiliser in a paddy field near Thrissur. The Department of Fertilisers and the Union Agriculture Ministry intend to expand the scope of subsidy regime to 200 fertilisers and complexes present under the Fertiliser Control Order (FCO), in addition to the existing 11 complexes and three fertilisers. The move is intended to help farmers in choosing the right fertiliser for different crops.
