Bank of India to conduct survey on customer service

Pudukottai, Nov 25 Adopting the strategy of foreign banks for ensuring prompt customer service, the Bank of India will conduct a survey on its customer services through its branches. The three-month survey will be launched shortly, its Chairman and Managing Director, Mr T.S. Narayanasami, said.

In an interview here on Sunday, Mr Narayanasami said the survey would focus on customers’ needs, their awareness on various services being offered by the bank, building up cordiality between customers and bank officials and employees and other similar customer-centered aspects.

On the achievements of the bank for the quarter ended September 30, Mr Naranayanasami said the deposits had registered a growth rate of 25 per cent to Rs 1,29,590 crore. The advances registered a growth of 27.6 per cent to Rs 95,816 crore. The bank’s income went up to Rs 3,503 crore, registering a growth of 39 per cent. The non-interest income rose to Rs 528 crore.

On an average, the bank’s branch in New York earns an annual profit of $30 million followed by Singapore with S$25 million. “About 25 per cent of the bank’s profit and 20 per cent of business come from branches abroad – the highest for any commercial bank in the country,” he said.
