Thiruvananthapuram, Nov. 25

The State Government has directed traders and retailers to stop carrying on bills and cash memos the announcement that `goods once sold will not be taken back or exchanged', says an official press release.

Stringent action would be taken under the Consumer Protection Act against those who violate this order, the release adds. The Government has given directives in this regard to the Controllers of the Legal Metrology Department and the Commercial Tax Commissioner. - Our Bureau
