Hindustan Latex's condom manufacturing plant

Thiruvananthapuram, Nov. 25

The public sector Hindustan Latex Ltd (HLL) has set up a new condom manufacturing plant at its facility in Thiruvananthapuram. With the inauguration of the new plant, the company now has the capacity to manufacture 1.3 billion condoms, including 1 billion condoms at its Thiruvananthapuram facility alone, said Mr M. Ayyappan, Chairman and Managing Director, HLL. The company now caters to 10 per cent of the global demand for condoms, he added. HLL will soon start manufacturing and marketing pregnancy detection kits, Mr Ayyappan announced. It will soon inaugurate a new facility at Manesar near New Delhi, he said. The company's consultancy division is in the process of implementing several projects across the country, he added. - Our Bureau
