Music & Dance States - Maharashtra Sawai music fest Pune, Nov 26 Films based on classical music and dance, interviews that provide a glimpse into the persona behind the artiste and an exhibition of photographs showcasing the Sawai Gandharva Sangeet Mahotsav's progression since its inception are the add-ons at the 55 th edition of the festival due to held here from December 6-9. Shadja, the film festival will kick off on December 6 with a screening of director, Mr Vikas Desai's film on Pandit Bhimsen Joshi. Mr Arun Khopkar's film Pravahi on danseuse Alarmel Valli, Hans Akela, a film by Mr Jabbar Patel on Pandit Kumar Gandharva and films by late Satyajit Ray, Kumar Shahani and James Bevredge will also be screened. Amongst the prominent artists performing this year are Pandit Jasraj, Malini Rajurkar, Gundecha Brothers , Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia , and Vijay Sardeshmukh.
