Bond prices flat on tight liquidity

Mumbai, Nov. 26

Bond prices ended almost flat on Monday on uncertainty about the liquidity situation in the market. The market opened on a positive note, however, the high call rates at 7.75-8 per cent and the absence of repo and reverse repo auctions indicated some tightness in the liquidity, said a dealer with a private bank. The total traded volumes on the order matching system were at Rs 3,325 crore (Rs 2,635 crore). The 7.99 per cent-10 year-2017 paper opened at Rs 100.69 (7.88 per c ent YTM) and closed at Rs 100.64 (7.89 per cent YTM), against the previous close of Rs 100.63 (7.89 per cent YTM). The 8.20 per cent-2022 paper opened at Rs 100.39 (8.15 per cent YTM) and closed at Rs 100.47 (8.14 per cent YTM), against the previous close of Rs 100.38 (8.15 per cent YTM).
