Our Bureau

New Delhi, Nov 27 The India International Trade Fair (IITF) concluded here today with the Lt. Governor of Delhi, Mr Tejendra Khanna, lauding the India Trade Promotion Organisation (ITPO) for mounting an impressive show with a great deal of professionalism and keeping visitors’ interest unflagging for a fortnight.

Referring to the IITF as multi–product and multi-services fair of its own kind, he expressed happiness over the growing number of overseas participants every year.

He pointed out that the presence of SAARC nations as partner countries would promote intra-regional trade and investment for the socio-economic development of their countries. Mr Khanna said that the Prime Minister has always emphasised on creating South Asian Union for free flow of goods on the lines of EU countries.

The fair such as IITF provides an opportunity to the companies to test the quality of their products and services which is of prime concern for the quality conscious customers.

Earlier, in her welcome address, the ITPO CMD, Dr Sheela Bhide, said that the fair has witnessed the transaction of good business and overwhelming visitor response.

Apart from large number of businessmen from all over the country, around 1152 overseas delegates from 90 countries visited the fair. She informed that more vigorous steps will be taken to promote visitors next year and to arrange B2B interactions.
