BAAP gets US recognition

Our Bureau

Ahmedabad, Nov 28

The Ahmedabad-based BAAP Diagnostics Ltd. has been awarded an accreditation by the College of American Pathologists (CAP). It is a part of BA Research India Ltd, a clinical research organisation (CRO), headquartered in Ahmedabad and specialising in conducting clinical phase and analysing samples for bioequivalence and bioavailability studies.

The studies conducted by BA Research have been approved by the US Food and Drug Administration and others, according to a statement here today.

A CAP-audited diagnostic lab is often an advantage as the facility is benchmarked to be of globally-approved standards and thereby speeds up approvals from global regulatory bodies.

It also enables the CRO to conduct tests in a protected environment, making its services more cohesive.

During the process, inspectors examined the laboratory’s records and quality control for preceding two years.

CAP inspectors also examined the staff’s qualifications, equipment, facilities, safety programme and record, as well as the overall management of the lab.
