Outlook Marketing - Strategy States - Tamil Nadu Ashok Leyland begins sale of pre-owned trucks in TN
“The reconditioned vehicle undergoes an exhaustive 140-point check to set Altrux quality standards to ensure optimum performance.” Our Correspondent Madurai, Nov. 28 Ashok Leyland launched the sale of ‘Altrux’, refurbished quality pre-owned trucks, in a function held here on Wednesday. The company purchases pre-owned Ashok Leyland vehicles in the market and reconditions them for sale with six months warranty. Introduced in Rajasthan and Kerala earlier, the reconditioned vehicle undergoes an exhaustive 140-point check to set Altrux quality standards to ensure optimum performance, enabling the buyer to operate the vehicle from the delivery point itself, Mr V.M. Hombali, Special Director, Customer Service Group, Ashok Leyland, told Business Line. All such reconditioned vehicles carry approved documents to certify authenticity and facility for easy financing, he mentioned. Mr Hombali added that the organised market for reconditioned commercial vehicles is emerging in the country and is estimated at around 77,000 per annum. The company is targeting approximately 15 per cent market share over the next three years. As far as Tamil Nadu is concerned, the target is 250 vehicles by the end of this fiscal. With improved infrastructure in place over time, the company will undertake reconditioning of other commercial vehicles, he added. More Stories on : Outlook | Strategy | Roadways | Tamil Nadu
