Bangalore, Nov. 28 IBM today announced a multi-year agreement with Ordyn Technologies, a manufacturer of optical telecom transmission equipment for major telecom service providers in India and abroad, to manage its complete IT infrastructure.

IBM will provide global business and technology services, hardware, software, and IT financing to help Ordyn future-proof its business by allowing them the flexibility to align with the evolving market dynamics, according to an IBM release.

The deal will also enable Ordyn to leverage IBM’s global domain knowledge and consulting expertise in the Indian telecom space to ensure sustained growth.

The deal entails Global Business Services such as implementation of Oracle’s E-Business Suite, and IBM Global Technology Services that include End User Services, Integrated Technology Services and Infrastructure and Connectivity Solutions. The deal will also allow Ordyn to leverage IBM’s System x servers and storage offerings to deploy its business critical applications and effective data management, and utilise IBM Lotus Notes/Sametime and Tivoli Storage Manager/Tivoli CDP to address collaboration and data life cycle management.

IBM Global Financing will be a strategic resource in the long run for Ordyn, helping it to keep technologies current, reduce costs, minimise risk, and preserve the ability to make flexible equipment decisions throughout the entire technology life cycle. According to the recent Indian Telecom Services Business report by Voice & Data, the telecom services industry grew 22 per cent to Rs 1,07,681 crore during 2006-07.
