Tata Tele ties up with Opera

New Delhi, Nov. 29

Tata Teleservices has entered into an agreement with Opera Software to offer new mobile Internet browser that promises to increase data speeds 3 to 4 times faster than existing GPRS based connections. The agreement will see the commissioning of Opera Mini on Brew-enabled handsets from Huawei at a cost of Rs 1,999. “We are bringing one of the world’s best Web browsing experiences to India with a unique local flavour. We believe that the Indian market will widely accept the product as it provides consumers with the information they wish on their mobile phones, and in the language they understand. Tata Indicom’s superior CDMA capabilities and continued innovation, together with Opera Mini’s intuitive and unique capabilities, bring a complete and user-friendly browsing experience to our customers,” said Mr Pankaj Sethi, President, Value Added Services and Enterprise Marketing, Tata Teleservices Ltd. —
