Hyderabad, Nov. 29 Finding growing interest in Italian garment and accessories brands from Italy, Alta Moda (meaning high fashion), a Hyderabad-based company has announced tie-ups with 14 major brands from that country.

“We are going to offer the consumers all the major Italian apparel brands under one roof,” said Mr Manoj Kumar Saraogi, Chief Executive Officer.

The list includes La Sartoria, Federico Ghidhini, Gianmario Matera and Michelle W. “Unlike their peers, these companies would make products to suit the Indian conditions,” he said.

Rising interest

According to Mr Saraogi, the interest in Italian garment and accessory brands had been on the rise in India.

Addressing a press conference here on Thursday, he said the company would open 50 stores in the first year. It would start off with two stores in Hyderabad in two months.

Most of the stores would be franchisees. Each store would have 700 products for men and women, with prices ranging between Rs 3,000 and Rs 30,000.

The company would open exclusive showrooms for select Italian brands.

After covering metros, Alta Moda stores would be opened in tier-II and tier-III cities, said Mr Parminder Singh Kohli, Managing Director.

It also planned to start an exclusive internet brand to facilitate online sales.
